  • A Post For Dustin – About That Metallica Song.

September 11th, 2008 by Ben Moreno

    ('DiggThis’)

Me and my friend Dustin carpool to work everyday.  I few weeks ago I heard the song “The day that never comes” by Metallica on the KROQ radio station and I liked it.  Yesterday we were listening to the new Metallica album in the car on the way home from work and I showed him this song.

We went back and forth with arguments on Metallica’s latest performance’s, how they are not like their original self, etc.  I was trying to sell him on this song because I think it is good.

He started telling me about how today’s artists don’t really feel the pain and suffering of today’s teenagers, which ultimately hurts their performance in the market.  I could tell that this realization was forcing him to deny the song.

I agreed with him that in some cases that this was true.  However, he asked me what the song was about and I did now know at the time.  He said, “exactly”.  I tried to start listening to the words but I could not tell what the song was about until I saw this video today on YouTube.

That is why this post is for Dustin.  Dude, you wanted to know what this song was about?  Well, here it is.  I think it is pretty good!

YouTube videos are notorious for disappearing.  If you notice this video doesn’t work please contact me.  Thanks.  Enjoy!

That doesn’t tell me anything; it is a video with a sound track in the background (commercial bull). I didn’t like the song because as I was listening to it; the lyrics make no sense. Don’t go lookup the lyrics, don’t go watch a video. Listen to the song; can you understand what the hell they are talking about? Anybody can scream into a microphone that just makes it crappie rock and roll.

Wow! I don’t think it was that bad. After I watched the video the lyrics began to make sense. It told me that the day that never comes is the day he dies. The guy thinks all the time that he may die at anytime but the day never comes.

Also, there was another message about the war in the video but I forgot what it was. It made sense last night when I watched it.
