I have been a fan of KROQ for a long time.  I almost always listen to the Kevin & Bean morning show every morning.  Well, back in 2008 they did a bit where Dave the king of Mexico had to go to people’s houses and perform various odd jobs.  The purpose of these jobs was for DKOM to earn money to pay back Kevin some money he owed him from a sports bet.  I believe they bet on a Lakers and Clippers game.  Well, they started accepting calls from people who had work and I tried to call in.

I have always had this old hot tub in my back yard that I wanted to get rid of but it is too big to fit through the side of the house.  So I called in that morning and got through.  At first I thought they were kidding about the whole thing but when I talked to the producer Alex she said they were serious.  I told them I had a hot tub that I needed chainsawed into pieces.  I think the word chainsaw is what got their attention in order for them to take my call.

Well, we ended scheduling for them to come to my house the next morning at 8AM.  It was on Wednesday, so I had to take the day off from work.

So 8AM rolls around and they gave me a confirmation call and told me they were going to show up at 8AM.  They show and Dave and Lightning come to the door.  I showed them the hot tub and they briefed me on how they wanted to do the bit.  They brought various tools for the job.  Some were there for entertainment.  For example, it would be really hard to cut up a fiber glass hot tub with an axe.  In the middle of the video they setup an on-air call with Kevin and Bean.

I was bored one day.

I recently read Tila’s blog post called “P*ssy Power is Power”, and thought I would give a response.

In the post she basically attacks the long standing social issue of sexism that we have in this country.  You know how men are praised for sleeping with many women and women are considered sluts or hoes for sleeping with many men?  Well, she goes on to say that a women needs to be, “a strong, intelligent, independent, and fierce woman who isn’t afraid to use her P*SSY POWER!”.  She also says that women need to stick together and promote this “P*ssy Power” attitude.

Tila, I understand how you can attack this problem because you feel like it is unjust to women, but I think that this is not the solution to the problem.  You are basically using the classic “us against them”, mentality.  We see this all the time in this culture.  You see it in politics, religion, sports and many other situations.

All this does is keep things the way they are and whoever is more powerful will win.  It doesn’t solve anything.  It is basically like Good vs. Evil.  I agree with you that things should not be like that and people should be able to sleep with whomever they want to and not be criticized or discriminated against.

The Problem

I think the main problem is that people view each other as property and not human beings.  Example, when a man chases after a girl and finally wins her affection he starts to refer to her as “HIS girlfriend”.   The women refers to the guy as “HER boy friend”.  Let’s say you meet this couple and the man introduces his mate as “MY wife” or “MY girl friend.

These terms, HIS HIM and MY are referring to possessions or property.  The property aspect comes into play when someone else is interested in your possession.  For example another guy hitting on YOUR woman.  I know some people think this is because of human nature.  People think it is natural to be territorial.  I disagree and new scientific evidence refutes the human nature belief and prove that these behaviors are all a product of our environment.

Our media and television shows promote this type of behavior.  As a matter of fact Tila, your show, “A shot at love” promotes this type of behavior as well.  Young people watch these shows and get caught up just like adults do.  Just imagine what is happening to these young people who are very insecure and emotionally immature.  They are basically going to be scarred from this.

The Solution

Unfortunately, it seems like this will never end but there is a solution.  ALL people need to understand how to respect each other.  They need to understand the benefits of treating each other with respect.  We must stop treating each other as property and not human beings.

The only way we can learn to do this is for us first to realize why we treat each other this way.  It is the environment that causes it so we must change our environment in order for us to learn how to respect each other.  We need to move away from these social norms that enable this type of behavior.

Take a deep look the things that influence us the most, and change those influences to more positive ones, and you will see a big difference.

Nowadays PC games have become very interactive and realistic that you can get an almost movie watching experience out of playing them as well as hours of entertainment.  Some games are so good that you can play them over and over and get a unique experience each time.

If you are an adult that is into PC games then you are probably most likely into the more mature PC games.  Mature computer games are games that are rated M for mature are games that usually contain one or more of the following aspects:

Left For Dead

If you are into FPS First Person Shooters I recommend this game for sure.  If you ever played counter strike then you would be familiar with the game play of this game.  They basically took the counterstrike engine and made into a fast paced, bloody, zombie horde game.  It is very intense and scary too.  Try playing this one in the dark for the first time with the lights off.  Me and 2 friends did it and we are not afraid to admit it scared the crap out of us

Mercenaries 2: World in Flames

A Third Person Shooter.  This is the first game I ever played that you can literally destroy almost everything in the game.  You play as a mercenary that takes contracts to get revenge on a criminal that shot you in the ass.  The graphics and game play are similar to Grand Theft Auto where you interact with different factions but you can use more types of vehicles and there are better weapons.  There are so many cool vehicles and weapons that you can operate in this game.  You can even get a Nuclear Bomb, which looks very visually pleasant.

Requiem: Bloodymare

If you are into FREE MMORPG’s than this is the game.  Hands down.  Trust me, I spent a lot of time spending trying out many of these games and when I came across this one I was highly impressed.  This game is dark and bloody, even scary at times.  They use the HAVOK engine to create nice gory physics based deaths of the monsters.  This game is free to play so I did not provide an affiliate link.  Trust if there was a program I would totally be confident in promoting this product.

I was cooking chorizo one night and it made me think of the movie Rocky, when I was cracking the eggs.  I was curious what it tasted like so I tried it.  It was an interesting experience.

Yesterday I went over to the Los Alamitos race track to bet on the 135th annual Kentucky Derby.  This was the second time in my life that I had bet on the derby.

My First Bet On The Derby

A few years back I bet on it when a horse called War Emblem was racing to win the triple crown.  The way I almost always bet is I bet a few dollars on the highest odds horses in the race.  I don’t pay attention much to the names and all the other information there is.  Of course people would tell me that I am crazy to bet that way but so far, it has worked lol!  So while everyone was betting on War Emblem I bet the 3 longest shot horses in the race.

It turns out one of the three horses ended up winning in a big upset.  I remember that when it got far enough into the race where War Emblem was sure not to win, all of the crowd chanting died down and only my voice could be heard as I was cheering on my horse.  Everyone was looking at me with a confused face as I was shouting for a horse no one else bet on apparently.  One guy turned to me and said, “Did you bet on that horse?!”.  I said, yes!  He just laughed.

An Interesting Thing That Happened

Both my brother and dad were with me at the time and had bet on the race as well.  It turned out that both of their horses won the place and show positions as well.  If we would have put on exacta on them we could have won some serious money.  We swore from that day forward we would always put an exacta on our horses in the future.

Yesterday’s Derby

Horse race betting is unique because you can litterally win hundereds, even thousands, of dollars just by better 2 dollars.  You can of course do the same thing with a slot machine but I think the odds are much better with horses.  In yesterday’s derby I placed 3 bets originally from my TVG account.  This time I decided to be superstitious and just let my daughter pick three horses she liked.  I bet $10 on each of them.

I got invited from my dad and brother to go to the track and watch the race from there so I went.  When I got there I told them what I had bet and they said I should bet on the horses to place and show also because I could still win decent money because the derby purse is so large.  So I took their advice and placed those bets as well.  Later on I felt like I wanted to bet even more, so I went and did my normal bet of 2 dollars on the three biggest long shots in the race.  I just had to add on my favorite type of bet, haha.  This turned out to be a good idea

The horse that won the race was the #8 horse called “Mine That Bird”.  It came from way back at the last minute on the rail to get the win.  If it wasn’t for my last minute bet I would have won nothing.  So I ended up winning $103.20 from a 2 dollar bet.  Of course I really didn’t win that much because of the other bets but it was a lot of fun for basically free.

When it comes to gambling I always assume I am going to loose.  The odds are almost always against you so you should pick an amount to spend and plan on losing it while trying to have as much fun in the process.  I got to go watch an exciting race, hang out with some awesome family members, drink a fews beers all for free.  In fact I actually earned money from doing it!

Most of you have heard of Midget town I’m sure.  Well, there are a lot of rumors regarding it.  Some people think there is Midget Town Long Beach.  Well, Jason Acuna (Wee Man) has set the record straight.  I usually listen to the Kevin & Bean show in the morning when I am driving on the way to work.  This morning’s show just happened to have Wee Man and they were asking him if he had any inside information about midget town.  They asked him a series of questions about it and here is what he said.

Question #1: Does midget town exist?

Answer: Yes.

Question# 2: Is midget town in Long Beach?

Answer: No. It is actually inland toward San Diego.

Question# 3: Is it a town where everything is little?

Answer: Yes, the hand rails, doors, houses, etc are all smaller than normal.

Question#4: Do the towns folk actually chase you away.

Answer: No.  But they do like their privacy and like to keep things secret.

Wee Man also went on add further explanation about the hidden town and also information regarding the difference between midgets and dwarfs.

“Remember the movie, “The Wizard of Oz? Well there were a lot of dwarfs and midgets in that movie and they all made some decent cash for their roles they played.  Well, they all decided to get together and buy some land and build a special little town for their kind. There is a difference between midgets and dwarfs.  Dwarfs are regular people with short limbs.  Midgets are smaller on all parts of their body.  You see we are sitting at the table and I am the same height as you are just my limbs are smaller than yours.”

So for now on when you hear people saying rumors about midget town you can set them straight with this info.  Midget town is not in Long Beach, but it is out there somewhere.
