Earlier today I was surfing around on Digg when I came across this article titled, “Aliens Really Do Exist!”.

I was curious so I clicked on the link and noticed it was an article regarding recent information scientists released regarding life on other planets.  They said that based on recent information they now believe that there is life on other planets.

7 astronomers from Britain are convinced that they will find some life in our solar system in the near future.  In 2015 they will execute a mission to land on Mars and dig into it’s surface.  They are enthusiastic because they know that Mars was once warmer and had more moisture.

Another convincing argument is that our own planet is proof that life can exist.  At the very least if another planet is like ours it could quite possibly have life on it.

Scientists expect to have definitive answers by about 2020.

Another fact that is interesting in the article is that we have been sending waves out from our planet since 1927.  This would make them about 80 million miles away from Earth.  There is a lot of other planets between us and that distance.  If their is intelligent life out there than there is a good possibility that they have detected these waves.

I decided I will write my first science post on earthquakes because I this week there was one!  It happened on Tuesday at about 11am in the morning while I was at work.  The funny thing is that some fellow employees and I just had a conversation regarding earthquakes and what we would do.  Our building is werehouse style building with a parking lot on the top.

I remember saying if there was an earthquake I would run out of the building out of fear that cars would fall on my head.  Sure enough on Tuesday that is exactly what I did.  I am not ashamed to admit that I was scared.  I am a practical person so I felt like my life is in danger, so I took off!  I feel much safer outside of this building than inside.  The only problem is that there is a long stair well you must run down to get to the bottom.  In the meantime large pieces of concrete and debris could be calling on my head.  And cars….cars could fall off of the top of the building and land on me.

Now that I think about it, maybe I will be better off staying inside.
