  • This is Now a Dofollow Blog.

March 6th, 2009 by Ben Moreno

    ('DiggThis’)

I went ahead and changed the comments to "dofollow" on this blog.  If you are not sure what "dofollow" is I will tell you.  When search engine spiders crawl websites they look for links and in the code if there is a tag that says rel="nofollow".  It tells the spider not to follow the link which in turn causes the link not to count toward page ranking.

I changed my tags to rel="dofollow" which means that when you write a comment and leave your url, it will give you an actual link.  I did this simply to encourage for participation in conversation.  This blog has been pretty stagnant for the last few months and needs more traffic and sunscribers.

I plan to write more conversation worthy material for now on as well.  Before I was just writing about anything and everything that interests me.  I realize that no matter how you look at it, people just want to go to blogs that have more focused subject matter.  I plan to narrow down the subjects on this blog.

So stand by, I plan on writing some great posts in the future.  By the way let me know if you notice your urls are not getting links so I can make sure this thing works.

    • I see that you are using Disqus for your comments now instead of the basic wordpress comment engine. I've been thinking about switching to Disqus for all the videos on our site (<a href="http://www.loopytube.com">LoopyTube.com), but I'm not sure what to think. What has been your experience so far?
    • I like it except for the fact that the template extends too far on each site of the blog. It looks ugly.
